All in the Mix!

Ever since I was a tiny little tot, significant events in my life were marked by cake! No matter what the reason, or the season... chances were that a cake would be involved. If you go through my childhood pictures, a great deal of them reflect that very thought! As I got older, I started messing around in the kitchen and making various tasty treats. I had always wanted an Easy Bake Oven, but I never did get one (apparently Santa ran short each year). But I was ok with that! My grandmother loved baking always, and even though I cannot remember those times, I remember bits and pieces. My mother tells me she baked often, and that she too had a love for cake! What I remember is her house being covered in cake pans of every shape and size! So in my heart, I feel that baking cakes is a way for me to connect with her even though she can no longer be here with me. And the icing on the cake (pun most definitely intended) is that baking a cake is a way of showing someone that you love them. Which brings me to biggest ingredient. The secret to a great cake is to put a little love in the mix, and with that, you can never go wrong! So follow me on this blog as I bake away and come up with new and fun ways to decorate cakes for those I love! I plan on placing step-by-step instructions on how to create the cakes I make as well as post new and interesting recipes that I find along the way! Last, but not least, there will be a ton of pictures. Each cake I make is an adventure, and each a challenge of their own... but not one that is impossible for you to do as well! So why not record the funny moments, the big mistakes, and the reason they are all worth it in one place! All going to prove that it really can be a Piece of Cake!
